North Somerset Pigeon shooting, Wildfowling and Conservation at its finest
With well over 40 years of experience in the farming, agricultural and Conservation world, we believe here at Woodspring that Field sports /land and habitat management and conservation walk hand in hand, and I think our Motto says that so eloquently finding the balance to which we do so well.
Our HistoryWith over 200 years of hunting, shooting, fishing and conservation work going back through many generations of my family, it only seemed right for me to step into the breach and carry on the tradition of which we ALL feel so passionate about, and to which is carrying on for many years with all my 6 children and many family members and close friends & colleagues.

The Farmers FriendWith all the grey hordes other birds and animals attacking the farmers lively hood and way of life it is here where I/we step into the breach to cull and control the Pigeon, Rabbits and other species. As you can expect nothing is wasted and all pigeons and rabbits etc end up being given away to the meat and game trade or given away to anyone that wants to try game. Some of this also ends up supplying my own family's culinary delights or the BBQ for every one to try.
Amongst our other duties of protecting all crops and live stock attack from all manner of animals and birds etc which threatens the farm, we also undertake our own conservation and habitat management. This includes keeping our waterways and ponds in good order, creating habitat for a great many species. We have Water voles, Pee Witt's, Otters and a good number of Kingfishers and owls that visit us regularly. We are also one of the only clubs actively involved in Mink/ grey squirrel Trapping in the North Somerset Levels and surrounding areas. We work closely with many shooting organisations and Conservation bodies and The Avon Wildlife Trust to name but a few. |
